2010 Primary Election Results

Congratulations to the following AFSCME members who won their election race in the March 2nd Primary:

But the race is not over...

Many of these members, as well as other AFL-CIO endorsed candidates who won their race in the Primary, will have opponents in the November General Election. It is important that AFSCME members continue to be active in supporting these candidates.

2010 AFSCME Convention Elections

AFSCME Local 1624 will be sending 10 delegates to the AFSCME International 39th Biennial Convention in Boston, Massachusetts, held from June 28th to July 2nd, 2010. Delegates are to be elected among all members in good standing.

Nominations and Elections Meeting:

When: Thursday, April 22nd, 2010, 6 PM
(please plan to arrive by 5:30pm-Refreshments will be served)

Where: Texas AFL-CIO Auditorium

In order to be nominated as a Delegate at this meeting, a potential nominee must be a member in good standing as of March 1st, 2010 and submit a Petition for Nomination signed by a minimum of 25 AFSCME members in good standing.

Texas Democratic Women Convention

Several AFSCME Local 1624 members and staff attended the Texas Democratic Women 2010
Convention Awards Dinner, sponsored in part by AFSCME International, on February 27th, 2010.

Several prominent women were recognized at this event, including Texas AFL-CIO President Becky Moeller.
Also in attendance was former AFL-CIO Vice President and the Democratic Nominee for Lieutenant Governor,
