Local 1624
is branch of the American
Federation of State, County, and Muncipal Employees,
the 1.4 million-member strong union that represents public employees
throughout the country. Our Local has been representing City of
Austin and Travis County Employees since 1969.
AFSCME
negotiates and lobbies with City and County Management, the City
Council and Commissioners Court on matters of concern to all employees
including, but not limited to:

Currently
AFSCME Local 1624 has a two-tiered dues structure. For employees
making less than $13.00 per hour, dues are $13.50 per pay period.
For employees making $13.00 or more per hour, dues are $15.50 per
pay period.
